Redirecting to new blog...

Hi! I'm Rosie Cappuccino! I'm a Mind Media Award 2017 shortlisted blogger.

Me! Rosie Cappuccino!

When I was first diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) in 2014, I felt unable to talk about it. This was due to three things: stereotypes, shame, and above all, silence.

I couldn't talk about it. I carried it around like a dirty little secret.

Under the cloak of anonymity, I started blogging and tweeting about my experiences. I was amazed to see how much my experiences resonated with others and something powerful started to happen: I realised I wasn't alone.

Through talking anonymously online, I began to find the words to talk about my experiences. Over time, I started to gain the confidence to talk in my real life.

In August 2017, I ended my anonymity by putting my face and name to Talking About BPD. BPD doesn't define me, but it is something that shapes my life and so I want to share as much of my journey with you as I can.

This blog is my journey out of silence to talking about BPD. I hope you will join me!

A little bit about me...
I'm a teacher, spoken word poet and masters student in Medical Humanities. I'm a friendly, imaginative, open-minded and sometimes outspoken person!

I also draw a lot and make zines and comics. I have two years of experience as a volunteer counsellor in a mental health charity too. I want to make people see that people with BPD are not the stereotypes, we don't deserve the shame.

I won't be silent any longer!
